Fanna !
After a long working week and bored of daily chores, me and Prasad decided to catch up a movie ! I was for MI III but Prasad wanted to watch a Hindi Flick, so we bought tickets of 10 PM show of Fanna !
The Urdu word Fanna means 'Destroyed in Love (for Love)' ! This is the story of Rehan's struggle to choose between mission and family, and his sacrifice to save his beloved wife and son !
A blind girl Jhooni (Kajol) from Kashmir falls in love with a tour guide Rehan (Amir Khan), when she comes to Delhi with her college crew for a Republic Day performance at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
There follow all the events which end in Jhooni falling in love with Amir and both end up deciding to get married. The surprises start coming in then. Rehan helps Jhooni for a retinal operation which enables her to see the world, but by the time she is ready to see the world, Rehan is dead !
Amir's sensitive portrayal of Rehan touched me the most. Amir with his well proven histrionics can be seen once again. He brings out the divarication within himself through his powerful performance. Thats why he is renowned as an actor of true acting caliber !
For me once again, a touching film which clearly brings out the dilemma to choose between family and mission ! To struggle to do justice to both, and then there is patriotism !
Overall I am once again touched and moved by the film, specially Amir's Rehan.
